New Little Saints Nursery for 0-4 year olds, 51 weeks a year
We are delighted to announce that the New Little Saints Nursery – our new purpose built single storey nursery building within the school’s 17 acre site, is now open.
The new nursery provides additional space meaning that Little Saints Nursery has expanded and is able to offer care for 51 weeks a year, to babies and young children aged from 6 weeks – 4 years.

Headmaster David Sibson said “The new Little Saints Nursery marks an exciting new phase for St Francis and it is appropriate that its opening comes after our celebratory 75th anniversary academic year. St Francis was founded in September 1941 with just 4 pupils. The new Little Saints Nursery for 0-4 year olds enables St Francis to offer a caring, nurturing and outstanding education for local children right from 6 weeks to 13 years. Little Saints is open for 51 weeks a year which gives working parents much needed reliable childcare options and flexibility. Little Saints has the added benefit that nursery children are able to make full use of our 17 acre site which includes extensive facilities and grounds including our school farm.”
The Nursery was designed by local architect, Alex Dawson, and was built by TG Escapes who specialise in creating eco-friendly classrooms designed to inspire learning and educational play. Director Richard Harvey said “It is fantastic to work with such a forward thinking school such as St Francis who continually look to invest in its facilities and pupils”.
