We are delighted to announce that St Francis has begun construction of a new single storey nursery within the school’s 17 acre site, the New Little Saints Nursery opens in September 2017.

The new nursery will provide additional space meaning that the existing Little Saints Nursery will expand its age range from 2-4 years to 0-4 years.  Care will be available for  babies and children from 6 weeks to 4 years, for 51 weeks a year.

The new Little Saints Nursery building will provide a reception area and three rooms for :

Little Buds aged 0-2 years>>

Acorns aged 2-3 years>>

Saplings aged 3-4 years>>

Headmaster David Sibson said “The new Nursery build is an exciting new phase for St Francis and it is appropriate that it comes during our 75th anniversary academic year.  St Francis was founded in September 1941 with just 4 pupils.  The new Little Saints Nursery for 0-4 year olds enables St Francis to offer a caring, nurturing and outstanding education for local children right from 6 weeks to 13 years. Little Saints will be open for 51 weeks a year which gives working parents much needed reliable childcare options and flexibility. Little Saints has the added benefit that nursery children are able to make full use of our 17 acre site which includes extensive facilities and grounds including our school farm.”

The Nursery was designed by local architect, Alex Dawson, will be built by TG Escapes who specialise in creating eco-friendly classrooms designed to inspire learning and educational play. Director Richard Harvey said “It is fantastic to work with such a forward thinking school such as St Francis who continually look to invest in its facilities and pupils”.
