Individual Music Festival Final 2019

St Francis School’s Individual Music Festival Final took place this week, with thirty five performers treating us to a real musical extravaganza! More than eighty children performed in the preliminary rounds, showing the amount of musical talent here at St Francis.

The children all gave outstanding performances on instruments including the french horn, clarinet, flute, guitar, cello, violin, viola, drums, piano and by singing some very memorable songs. Retired Director of Music, Mr David Woodgates was on hand to adjudicate – and what a difficult task it was. He was blown away by the high quality of musicianship across the whole school, from the youngest performers in Year 3 right up to Year 8.

Congratulations to all the children who performed, but special mentions must be made to the three ‘Outstanding Performers’ who were each awarded a shield.

  • Outstanding Performer (Years 3 and 4) – Fintan Light (drums)
  • Outstanding Performer (Years 5 and 6) – Nat Binstead (guitar)
  • Outstanding Performer (Years 7 and 8) – Amber Dickin (piano)
